A standard trope of science fiction, or at least futurist fiction is the self driving car. Check out this video from TED (via the Huffington Post) to see just how close we are coming to having this bit of futurness. I had previously heard of Google attempting to make the self driving car, but had never seen video of it. I think you will be amazed at how well the car performs.
